WASHINGTON — Raytheon Co. of Waltham, Mass., has agreed to purchase defense and homeland security company BBN Technologies, according to a Sept. 1 Raytheon press release.
BBN Technologies, a private company headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., employs 700 people at seven locations around the United States, the release said. The company specializes in advanced networking and information technologies, sensor systems and cyber security, and it will become part of Raytheon’s Network Centric Systems division based in McKinney, Texas.

CNN — Artificial intelligence leader OpenAI introduced a new AI model called Sora which it claims can create “realistic” and “imaginative” 60-second videos from quick text prompts. In a blog post on Wednesday, the company said Sora is capable of generating videos up to 60 seconds in length from text instructions, with the ability to serve up scenes with multiple characters, specific types of motion, and detailed background details.

In YouTube TV’s playback settings, users can adjust the broadcast delay between the “default” setting and “decrease.” That second option first showed up in December 2023 and appears under the three dots overflow menu when streaming a channel live.
