Illegal marijuana operation busted, hundreds of pounds seized and destroyed

An unlicensed illegal marijuana growing and processing site near Nyssa, Oregon, was served a search warrant on Sept. 18, 2023.

The High Desert Drug Task Force (HDDTF), Malheur County Sheriff's Office, Ontario Police Department and the Oregon State Police went to the location of the 3200 block of Highway 201.

There, they seized 56 mature marijuana plants, destroyed 470 pounds of dried processed marijuana on the scene and reported four firearms being used to guard the illegal site, including multiple handguns and one AR-15.

The Malheur County District Attorney is handling the charges. Only three suspects were found on the scene. There is no information released on the identity of the suspects.
